Reflux After Bariatric Surgery.
Persistent heartburn, regurgitation or difficulty swallowing deserves an explanation—not simply another restriction at mealtime.

Start with symptoms and anatomy
Tell the team when symptoms started, which foods or positions trigger them and how you respond to medication. Sleeve shape, a hiatal hernia, a gastric band or other findings may matter. Endoscopy, imaging or reflux testing may be appropriate to establish the cause and guide treatment.
Match treatment to the cause
Medical therapy and eating adjustments may help some patients. Others may need treatment of a structural issue, band removal or conversion from sleeve to bypass. Not every case of reflux requires revision. Difficulty swallowing, ongoing vomiting or unexplained bleeding needs prompt medical attention.
