A founder’s contribution to Central Texas
Dr. Ganta introduced sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch and gastric plication to Central Texas as the region’s first surgeon to perform these procedures. He also performed Texas’s first transumbilical single-incision LAP-BAND and helped pioneer single-incision sleeve surgery. This history reflects a sustained commitment to expanding thoughtful surgical care.

His work includes the first use worldwide of Moon Surgical’s Maestro AI system in an ambulatory surgery center setting. Advanced platforms are tools within a surgeon-led operation. Each patient’s anatomy, condition and intended procedure determine whether a particular approach is useful.
