SkinnyShots is the name of NuSelf’s injectable medical weight loss program. We use semaglutide or tirzepatide as part of a physician-guided plan, with nutrition, activity and regular follow-up supporting your treatment.
Semaglutide acts on GLP-1 receptors involved in appetite and fullness. It can reduce hunger and food intake, making it easier to follow a nutrition plan. Your physician guides your weekly dose and monitors how you respond.
Tirzepatide acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors, two hormone pathways involved in appetite and blood sugar regulation. Your physician considers your health, treatment history and response when selecting and adjusting your weekly treatment.
Your medication choice is a clinical decision made together. We review your health history, other medicines, goals, tolerability and costs before recommending treatment.
Questions about treatment?GLP-1 is a hormone released by the gut after eating. It helps communicate fullness to the brain, supports insulin release when blood sugar rises and affects how quickly food leaves the stomach.
Semaglutide acts on this signaling pathway. Tirzepatide also acts on GIP receptors. For many patients, reduced hunger makes it easier to eat smaller portions and build a more consistent routine.
Nutrition still matters. Your program pairs medication with guidance that supports adequate protein, hydration, strength and overall health as you lose weight.
You may be considering medication for the first time, returning after a break or looking for more consistent follow-up. Start with a physician consultation. We review your health and weight history, current medicines, previous treatment and goals. Testing is arranged when clinically appropriate.
Prescription weight loss treatment is commonly considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related health condition. BMI is one part of the evaluation; your physician determines whether the program is appropriate for you.
Bring your prescription details, last dose, progress and any concerns. We can reassess your plan and discuss how to continue or restart with medical supervision.
Medication may be part of a personalized plan after surgery. NuSelf considers your nutrition, prior procedure, symptoms and overall health to recommend the appropriate next step.

As your weight changes, so can your needs. We follow your progress beyond the number on the scale: how you feel, how you eat, your strength and the health measures that matter to you. Monthly visits give you regular opportunities to ask questions and refine your plan.
Continued long-term follow-up helps you maintain your results and health. Some patients benefit from ongoing medication. When treatment needs change, we plan the next stage together, with continued attention to nutrition, activity and weight maintenance.

Semaglutide and tirzepatide work through related but different hormone pathways. Your physician considers your health history, prior treatment, current medicines, goals, tolerability and costs. We select one appropriate treatment and monitor your response; do not combine them or change your dose on your own.
Appetite changes and weight loss vary from person to person. Progress develops over months, with dose changes when clinically appropriate. Monthly physician visits help us review your response, nutrition, side effects and overall health. We do not promise a fixed amount of weight loss or a deadline.
Obesity is often a long-term condition, and weight can return after stopping treatment. The right duration depends on your response, health, tolerance and goals. We discuss maintenance as part of your program and plan any treatment change with you.
Coverage for visits, testing and weight loss medication varies. Our Insurance Concierge helps review your benefits, authorization requirements and expected costs. Comprehensive self-pay options and financing for eligible services can also be discussed.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and stomach discomfort can occur. Your team reviews symptoms, hydration, nutrition and dose adjustments when appropriate. Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, dehydration-related kidney injury and allergic reactions. Seek urgent care for severe persistent abdominal pain, inability to keep fluids down or signs of a serious allergic reaction.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide should not be used with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2). Weight loss medication is not appropriate during pregnancy. Tell your physician about pregnancy plans, breastfeeding, prior pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, severe digestive symptoms and all medicines. Other diabetes medicines may need adjustment to avoid low blood sugar. Tirzepatide can affect oral contraceptive effectiveness; discuss additional or alternative contraception. Tell your surgery or anesthesia team about treatment before any procedure. Your physician reviews the complete safety information for your prescription.
