I’m Dorothy Whiteman from Copperas Cove, Texas. I had the gastric sleeve done in March of 2016. I am currently 96 pounds down. I’ve struggled with my weight all of my life. I did the true roller coaster up and down up and down. I decided to do this procedure in October of 2015 when my brother at the age of 51 passed away of a massive heart attack and he was very obsessed as well. That really opened my eyes. No matter what I was doing before of exercising, eating on point I still could never lose the weight until I had the gastric sleeve done with Dr. Ganta.

I was very fearful on the procedure of doing this major surgery not just for the fact that it was a major surgery but also I didn’t want to fail. I didn’t want to do it and then not be able to truly change my life. He answered every single question I had. His staff has been available anytime you need a question answered. They truly make you feel like you’re part of their family and they want you to succeed. This procedure has changed my life in ways that I didn’t realize they could. Besides just losing weight I feel so much better. The doctors technically couldn’t find anything wrong with me but I was just so overweight and so unhealthy I was miserable. I was miserable inside. I was miserable outside. With the weight loss that I’ve done in a year I have more energy. I am happier. My son is proud of me. I’m able to be a fun mom and I think that’s what we all want. We just don’t want to be a mom but we want to be able to go and do the things in life with your children and make those memories that I was missing out on by being so overweight.

To do this isn’t wasn’t an easy decision for me to do but I’m glad that I did and I hope that me being an example of what you can do to succeed would help people make a decision to do this procedure to save them – save their lives. I mean it literally saved my life.
